Cookin’ for Life

The Kingdom Relay for Life Team has compiled a cookbook filled with recipes from Kingdom customers, staff, and retirees. Just in time for holiday cooking and gift giving! I already have my copy and ambled through it last night. There are a lot of recipes I want to try, and many I know will become standbys.  This morning, Dana, one of our CSRs, said she tried the Ham and Swiss Rolls on page 29, which she praised to the hilt with “oooohs”, “mmmms” and rolling of eyes. The recipe is below for you to try.

Cookin’ for Life is for sale at our office in Auxvasse and the Fulton Technology Store. You can also pick up your copy at the Open House on October 7. The cost is $10, and all proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Now that I’ve got you feeling hungry, don’t forget the Stephens Community Annual Fundraiser BBQ is tomorrow, September 17, at the community center from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Let the good cooks of Stephens tempt you with bbq pork steak and all the fixings, including beverage and dessert.

Split rolls and lay tops aside. Place bottoms in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Top with ham and cheese. Place tops back onto the rolls. In a saucepan, melt butter. Add sauce, onion flakes, mustard and poppy seeds. Stir until smooth. Pour over the rolls and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
